Washington, D.C., will get a break from wintry storms for the balance of the Thanksgiving weekend.
Some flight delays are still possible due to displaced aircraft and crews.
In the wake of the Wednesday storm, travel conditions on Thanksgiving Day will slowly improve with the aid of partial sunshine and above-freezing temperatures. However, secondary roads north and west of the city may still be snow-covered and slippery in the morning.
Wet and slushy areas may freeze Thursday night. Early Black Friday shoppers should be on the lookout for areas of clear (black) ice, especially north and west of the city. Not all surfaces will have had a chance to dry off.
No precipitation is forecast from Friday through the day on Sunday.
Skiers can expect great conditions with fresh natural snow on the slopes, despite a warming trend this weekend.
Highs will be in the 40s F on Saturday and may approach 60 degrees on Sunday. Both days of the weekend will bring some sunshine.
Fans heading to the NFL game in Baltimore on Sunday afternoon between the Ravens and Chargers will be able to trade heavy winter coats with light weight jackets and fleece.
The warming trend will continue into Monday.
