The past couple of days have been rather chilly around Atlanta but warmer air is on the way.
After high temperatures bottomed out at 37 on Tuesday, a return to the 60s will greet the region Sunday and through the early part of the new week.
The warmth will likely be absent Saturday with temperatures expected to be in the upper 50s. However, it is a big improvement from temperatures that were felt earlier in the week.
A developing system across the Plains and Mississippi Valley will be responsible for bringing a warm breeze Sunday. However, it will also bring a period of heavy rain and thunderstorms late Saturday through early Sunday.

The rain may come down hard enough to cause minor flooding on city streets. Street closures and travel delays may arise and challenge motorists.
Dry weather will return early next week but temperatures will head downhill as a new blast of cold air moves in by the middle of the week. Thanksgiving could be on the chillier side across the Atlanta area, but chances are it may be dry.
