Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,November 26,2014
A strong low pressure system will skim across the Eastern Seaboard on Wednesday, while snow showers will affect the Rockies.
An area of low pressure will deepen as it moves north northeastward over the Eastern Seaboard. During the first half of Wednesday, this system will slide across the southern Mid-Atlantic, bringing moderate to heavy rain to the Southeast, and a mixture of rain and snow to the southern Appalachians. As this system shifts over the northern Mid-Atlantic and the coast of New England, mixed precipitation will develop across the East Coast, while heavy snow showers will impact the northern Appalachians and New England. Gusty winds combined with heavy snow showers will create hazardous road conditions across the Northeast.
Meanwhile, a weaker area of low pressure will slide southeastward over the northern Plains and the Mississippi Valley. Bitter cold temperatures will return to the northern tier of the country, while light snow showers will be possible across the upper Midwest and the western Great Lakes. There will also be a chance of mixed precipitation over the middle Mississippi Valley and the Tennessee Valley.
To the west, moderate to heavy snow showers will develop across the Intermountain West on Wednesday, while wet weather will persist across the northern tier of the Pacific Northwest. A ridge of high pressure over the eastern Pacific will keep conditions warm and dry across the Southwest. Temperatures are forecast to range between the 70s and 80s across the Desert Southwest.
