After a surge of springlike warmth to start the weekend, high temperatures in Pittsburgh will trend downward into the start of the new week before a winter storm arrives at midweek.
Residents should not get used to the warmth that had Saturday feeling more like April than the middle of February.
Sunday will still be mild for this time of year, just not as warm as Saturday underneath a blanket of clouds. Temperatures will return to more seasonable levels on Monday. A high near 40 degrees Fahrenheit is more typical for this time of year.

Attention will then turn toward a potent storm set to emerge from the southern Plains and track to the eastern United States at midweek, returning snow and rain to the Pittsburgh area.
The exact movement and strength of the storm will determine whether the region sees more rain than snow or vice versa.
A track west of the region would yield a mostly rain event with potentially snow on the front and back end of the storm. On the other hand, a storm path closer to the I-95 corridor could mean more snow than rain.
Odds currently favor the first scenario panning out.
