A storm that will bring flooding rain to Italy this weekend will turn northward early next week to bring rain and snow to much of Germany.
Precipitation will begin Sunday night as a mixture of rain and snow over Bavaria before racing northward and expanding westward on Monday.
While temperatures will be above zero degrees Celsius (32 F) on Monday across all of Germany, snow can still result in slushy accumulations from Munich to Berlin.
Meteorologist Tyler Roys said, "A narrow strip of heavy precipitation could result in several centimeters of snow."
If a band of heavier snow occurs, travel delays are likely ranging from slick roadways to flight delays or cancellations.
Areas that do not receive heavier precipitation will get a mixture of rain and snow throughout the day with little or no accumulation.

Western Germany is expected to miss this storm as chilly but dry weather prevails from Hamburg to Cologne.
Improving weather in eastern Germany on Tuesday as the storm departs with rain and snow showers coming to an end by the early afternoon.
