UK: Early March to turn stormy after largely dry weekend

Residents of the United Kingdom should not get used to the dry weather set to dominate this weekend with a turn to a stormier pattern to follow next week.
High pressure will allow weekend plans to go on as scheduled this weekend without an interference from the weather. Rain, snow and gusty winds will be largely absent. Both days will instead feature some sunshine.
At most, very odd showers will lightly dampen the eastern coast of the U.K. and will become wintry for the second half of the weekend.

Jackets will be needed throughout the U.K. with temperatures dropping below freezing in most communities at night. Highs both Saturday and Sunday will be fairly typical of late February, averaging from 4-8 C (lower to middle 40s F) outside of the hills.
Umbrellas will once again be needed for early next week as the high departs and allows depressions to once again target the U.K.
The first depression should allow rain to reach northern and western parts of the U.K. on Monday.
"Most of the U.K. will be wet on Monday night with the rain lingering into Tuesday," AccuWeather Meteorologist Courtney Spamer said.

What to do when driving in floodwaters

If the depression is slower to depart than currently expected, rain may put a damper on the National St. David's Day Parade in Cardiff on Tuesday.
While it will turn breezy early next week with the depression, the danger of damaging winds should stay absent.

"The depression [that follows] Tuesday night into Wednesday will bring windier conditions," Spamer said. Gusts strong enough to cause sporadic power cuts and tree damage and travel delays are possible, especially along the northern and western coasts. The winds will otherwise make the air feel colder than actual temperatures.
Heavy rain will likely not accompany this depression, but it will bring another rainy spell with possible wintry showers.
The stormy weather pattern will not end with the midweek depression.
"There will be no prolonged break from storms into next weekend," Spamer said. "The best chance for a dry day is Thursday."
