Harrisburg: New week to bring next opportunity for snow

Benign weather is in the offing for the Harrisburg area this weekend before the weather pattern turns wintry for the new week.
The dry and mild air set to close out the weekend is not a sign of things to come for south-central Pennsylvania.
Chilly weekend, snow next week, but no big storm
Harrisburg will escape the winter storm set to graze New England to start the new week.
Otherwise, the next opportunity for snow for the area will come at the hands of another storm arriving from the Midwest.

The storm will reach the area Monday afternoon with rain and wet snow, but roads should stay mainly wet with little impact to the afternoon commute.
However, the track of the storm and intensity of the snow will determine whether the area is faced with nuisance to disruptive snow or lighter snow with fewer travel problems Monday night into Tuesday.

The door will then open for colder air to arrive for the second half of the week and next weekend. The brutal cold next weekend could be the coldest so far this winter with biting winds creating bitterly lower AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures.
