Game 1 between the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals was ultimately able to start at its scheduled time. Wednesday's matchup is set for 8:07 p.m. EDT.
Cool, gusty northwesterly winds will kick up on Wednesday in Kansas City. For those hoping that will translate to more fly balls being carried toward right field during Game 2, the winds will subside by first pitch.
"For Game 2, the weather [compared to Tuesday evening] will be drastically improved, featuring partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 50s," stated AccuWeather Meteorologist Ed Vallee.

Vallee added that fans, however, will want to trade rain gear for jackets Wednesday evening.
"By game's end, temperatures will dip into the upper 40s."
Dry weather will remain the theme as the series heads to Citi Field in New York City Friday and Saturday.
