Flooding ensued across parts of Texas on Friday and continued into late in the weekend, creating impassable roads and cutting power to thousands. The rain pushed into Louisiana on Sunday, combining with isolated severe thunderstorms.
Nearly 30 water rescues were performed in the Houston area alone as high water overtook dozens of roadways.
A possible tornado was spotted mid-morning on Sunday in Destrehan, Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans. One woman was injured due to damage to her mobile home according to local emergency management.
