Multiple weather-related crashes Thursday morning closed sections of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 78 in eastern Pennsylvania.
The turnpike crash occurred near Reading, Pa., at about 9:10 a.m., the turnpike commission said.
The westbound lanes of the turnpike were blocked with more than 30 vehicles were involved, The Associated Press reported.
Roads were slippery at the time of the crash.
"There was a burst of snow that moved through the Reading-Lancaster-York areas and dropped 1 or 2 inches of snow over a three-hour period," AccuWeather.com Meterologist John Dlugoenski said.
Ten people were taken to the hospital from the turnpike crash, The AP reported.
Another crash closed down part of I-78 in Berks County. More than 60 people were injured, according to The AP.
