Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday,February 6,2016

A cold frontal boundary will shift across the Northwest on Saturday, while a wave of low pressure transitions across the upper Great Lakes.

A cold frontal boundary will extend southwestward from the upper Intermountain West to northern California. This frontal boundary will weaken as it pushes eastward, but not before producing light to moderate rain and high elevation snow over northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and parts of Montana. A pair of high pressure systems will focus over the coast of California and the Great Basin. These systems will influence dry conditions across the Southwest on Saturday. Areas of southern California will experience above normal temperatures due to an offshore wind pattern.

Meanwhile, a low pressure system will push eastward across southeast Canada and the upper Great Lakes. A mixture of light rain and snow will affect the upper Midwest and portions of the Northeast. A cold air mass will also settle in across the upper Midwest and New England. A separate system will dip southeastward over south central Canada and the northern edge of the northern Plains. Mixed precipitation will develop over portions of northeast Montana and northern North Dakota during Saturday evening.

Additionally, an area of low pressure will strengthen along the east coast of Florida. This system is expected to usher moderate to heavy rain over Florida and the southern Mid-Atlantic.
