Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday, February 20,2016

Stormy conditions will affect portions of the Mississippi Valley and the Tennessee Valley on Saturday, while wintry weather develops across the upper Intermountain West.

A low pressure system will move east northeastward across the upper Great Lakes and southeast Canada. Mixed precipitation will develop across parts of the upper Great Lakes and the Northeast. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend southwestward from the eastern Great Lakes to the middle Mississippi Valley. A wave of low pressure will develop along the tail end of this frontal boundary, which will generate showers and thunderstorms across a handful of states. Stormy conditions will spread eastward over the middle Mississippi Valley, the lower Mississippi Valley, the Tennessee Valley and the Ohio Valley. High pressure will keep conditions warm and dry across most of the Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast.

Meanwhile, an area of low pressure will shift east southeastward across the Pacific Northwest and the upper Intermountain West. Moderate to heavy rain and high elevation snow will impact northern Oregon, Washington, the northern Rockies and parts of the northern Plains. A ridge of high pressure over the eastern Pacific will keep conditions quiet across the Southwest.
