Germany has experienced unsettled and mild conditions for the start of February, but the return of cold air will bring temperatures closer to normal on Thursday and Friday.
Following rain and strong winds early in the week, cooler and more tranquil weather is ahead for Germany through Friday.

Much of the country could have brief showers linger into Friday, but the rain will not be as heavy or prolonged as early in the week. Those planning to attend Carnival events will want to keep an umbrella handy.
Across mountainous areas of central and southern Germany, the continued showers could turn to snow with the most widespread snow showers from Thursday into Thursday night.
Any accumulation of snow will likely be confined to higher elevations.

Though some areas could remain dry both Thursday and Friday, there is the threat for brief showers, generally lasting 15 minutes or less, countrywide.
Temperatures later this week will only climb to 5-6 C (40-42 F) degrees in Hamburg and Berlin.
Farther south, temperatures will be only slightly milder. Daytime highs from Frankfurt to Munich will be 6-7 C (42-44 F) through Friday.
