A storm arriving from the Atlantic Ocean will unleash another round of rain and wind across Germany on Tuesday.
While several windstorms have hit the British Isles this winter, Germany has been largely spared from any widespread damaging wind events. Recently, stormy weather has forced several cities to suspend or cancel popular Carnival events.
Tuesday's storm will likely bring more cancellations as another round of locally heavy rain and strong winds is expected.

According to the Associated Press, Carnival parades were canceled or postponed in Mainz, Muenster and Duisburg on Sunday with similar cancellations on Monday in Dusseldorf.
A moderate to, at times, heavy rain will fall across Germany from Tuesday into Tuesday evening with rainfall amounts averaging 12-25 mm (0.50-1.00 inch).
The heaviest rain will spread across Dusseldorf, Wiesbaden, Mainz and Saarbrucken during the morning hours. Rainfall will begin in Hanover and Erfurt around midday and then reach Hamburg, Berlin and Dresden during the afternoon.

A strong southwest wind will blast central and southern Germany along with the rain. The strongest winds will hit from Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Wurttemberg into Saxony, where gusts up to 80 km/h (50 mph) are possible.
Farther north, wind gusts up to 65 km/h (40 mph) are likely from Dusseldorf to Berlin.
Areas across the north, including Hamburg, will be spared from any damaging winds though gusty winds are still expected throughout the day.
Drier weather is expected to follow this storm on Wednesday. There may be some brief showers, generally lasting 15 minutes or less. Winds are expected to be much weaker for Ash Wednesday's Carnival events.
