Benign weather is in the offing for the Philadelphia area this weekend before the weather pattern turns wintry early next week.
High pressure will build back in over the weekend which will allow for some sunshine and will help keep precipitation away.
"It looks like a decent weekend setting up for the Northeast with temperatures on the mild side," said Senior AccuWeather Meteorologist Dave Dombek.
Milder air will lead to temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s through Sunday, several degrees above-average for this time of the year.

"The pattern early next week will be conducive for colder temperatures and some snow across the Northeast" said Dombek.
By Monday and Tuesday, the air will be cold enough that an approaching storm from the southwest will bring a chance of snow. How much snow will fall and the extent of travel disruptions in the Philadelphia area will depend on how quickly that storm strengthens before taking full aim at New England.
"The key to where the heaviest snow falls depends on the track and intensity of a storm moving near the East Coast Monday and how this affects the potential for another storm Tuesday and Wednesday" said Dombek.

Even though the atmosphere will be colder around the region early next week, marginal temperatures could still cause rain or a wintry mix in some locations, especially from the city on south and east.
The latter part of next week will be chilly with highs in the upper 30s to the lower 40s. Highs during the second week of February average in the lower 40s in the city.
