Following dry, summerlike weather for much of the first half of February, cooler air and a bit of rain will return to the Los Angeles area.
So far this February, the storm track has favored rain in the Pacific Northwest, keeping Southern California dry and warm.

The pattern will briefly shift this week, allowing rain to reach Los Angeles into Thursday morning as a storm system moves into the area.
This will mark the first time this month that Los Angeles has received any rainfall.
Typically, around 2 inches of rain fall in the city by this point in February.

Behind this system, dry, but cooler conditions will settle in across the region.
Following high temperatures near 90 F at the beginning of the week, highs will fail to reach 70 on Thursday and Friday despite some sunshine.
Daytime highs are typically in the upper 60s this time of year.
Sunshine will likely continue through the weekend with temperatures climbing to the mid-70s.
