Blizzard conditions will hamper travel from Colorado to Minnesota through Tuesday.
The storm will cause disruptive travel on major highways including interstates 25, 29, 35, 40, 70, 80, 90 and 94. Air travel will also be a major problem throughout the region.
Snowfall rates will be 1 inch an hour and strong winds will create blowing, drifting and visibility near zero. Travel will be extremely difficult if not impossible and more road closures are likely Tuesday.
Meanwhile, severe thunderstorms will develop around midday across the middle and lower Mississippi Valley. Those can contain damaging wind, hail and isolated tornadoes.
