After a wet and unsettled midweek, skies will give way to dry and sunny conditions for the weekend.
Tropical moisture moving from the Southwest will impact Minneapolis on Wednesday, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Maggie Samuhel.
Showers and thunderstorms invading the area will produce heavy rain at times. Those heading outdoors will want to pack an umbrella or raincoat.

Thursday will dry out as the day goes on, but morning commuters will want to prepare for lingering showers and storms.
By Friday and through the weekend, high pressure moving into the area will bring an end to the unsettled weather.
Temperatures will rise into the mid-70s F, roughly 5 degrees Fahrenheit above average for this time of the year.
Though too soon for viewing the peak of fall foliage in Minneapolis, the weekend weather will be ideal for other autumn activities such as apple and pumpkin picking.
