High pressure will remain centered over northern Europe this week and will result in an extended period of dry and comfortable weather from Ireland and the United Kingdom through France, Germany and Poland.
Seasonable temperatures are expected from the United Kingdom into western Germany and northern France. Daily high temperatures will range from 16-19 C (60-66 F) with partly to mostly sunny skies.
Farther east, dry weather will also prevail from Hungary through Poland and the Baltic states. Conditions will be seasonably cool through Thursday with a warming trend from Friday into the weekend. Despite temperatures a few degrees below normal, sunshine will make for pleasant afternoons.

While northern Europe has dry and pleasant weather this week, a strengthening area of low pressure will bring unsettled weather from eastern Spain into Italy as the week progresses.
The storm system will pass near the Balearic Islands Wednesday, bringing downpours to the islands as well as northern Algeria and Tunisia. Rain will reach Sardinia late Wednesday afternoon.

Rain and thunderstorms will also impact northern Algeria and Tunisia on Wednesday where flash flooding is a concern.
While rain will continue across northern Algeria and Tunisia on Thursday, the heaviest downpours will impact areas from Sardinia into southern and central Italy, including Rome and Naples.
By Friday, much of Italy will experience rain and thunderstorms. The rainfall will be heavy enough to produce localized flash flooding. The threat for rain will also spread into southeast France on Friday.
The storm system will weaken significantly over the weekend with only a few isolated showers lingering across northern Italy.
