Minneapolis: Bitter Cold to Near-Record Temperatures Late Weekend

A brief break from the dangerous cold will come on Sunday but the frigid air will return in full force on Sunday night, as temperatures near-record lows.
Saturday will be cold with temperatures nearing five degrees, but wind will make the air feel even colder. Wind gusts up to 30 mph are possible throughout the city.

Overnight Saturday temperatures will near zero, as some snow falls in the city. Accumulation of one to two inches will be possible by Sunday morning.
Temperatures on Sunday will provide some relief from the bitter cold, as temperatures near 20 degrees. However, a storm will bring another one to two inches of snow to the city throughout the day Sunday.

Overnight Sunday temperatures will fall to near record cold, approaching -23 F. Extreme cold will make for dangerous conditions for anyone outside. Cold-related illnesses are possible into next week.
The cold will remain in the city through the start of the week, with daytime temperatures below zero Monday and Tuesday.
