Atlanta: Weekend Warmth to Help Melt Snow, Ice

Following the rare snowstorm that wreaked havoc across the South, the weather will warm for the weekend, allowing the snow and ice to melt around Atlanta.
With abandoned cars still stuck on the roadways around the region, Thursday night will bring more chaos to the city, as temperatures drop down below freezing.
Overnight, roads may refreeze, creating more slippery and dangerous travel conditions across the region.

However, on Friday, temperatures will increase more than 10 degrees, allowing highs to rise into the 50s during the day. This will allow the remaining snow and ice to melt around the city and for cleanup efforts to begin.
As for the weekend, rain showers will dampen the area both days. Morning fog may also create some travel delays for those headed out on Saturday morning.
