A winter storm stretching across the Midwest and Northeast will hit Detroit this weekend, bringing accumulating snow to the city.
After some snow during the day Friday, between 3 and 6 inches will fall intermittently through Saturday evening.
Sunday will bring more flurries to the city. As temperatures drop into the teens in the evening, a coating to 1 inch of snow may again accumulate on roadways.

Those who have to travel should allow more time than usual to get to their destination on each day, and be cautious of slippery conditions.
Flurries will kick off the start of next week with temperatures in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
