A cold frontal boundary will linger across the Eastern Seaboard on
Sunday, while a ridge of high pressure will continue to build over the
Southwest.
An active weather system will wind down across the East Coast on Sunday
as a cold front propagates over the western Atlantic. Heavy snow will
impact the northern portion of New England, as the heaviest snow is
expected to fall in Maine. Coastal New England will experience gusty
winds as well. Further south, spotty snow showers will linger over New
York and Pennsylvania, while a mixture of rain and snow will impact the
Mid-Atlantic coast. This cold front will also provide showers and
thunderstorms to parts of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina on Sunday.
Meanwhile, a low pressure system over Nebraska and South Dakota is
expected to trigger snow showers across Minnesota, North Dakota and
parts of South Dakota. The southern Plains will stay clear of
precipitation due to a high pressure system over Texas.
A cold front will approach the Pacific Northwest on Sunday, which will
usher showers across western Washington and northwestern Oregon. Snow
will also be possible in the Cascades. The Southwest will stay clear of
wet weather due to a ridge of high pressure along the coast of
California.
