After the midweek system accompanied with snow exits the area, frigid air will pour into the area.
Highs on Thursday will be in the teens, with the overnight temperature below zero.
The last time temperatures in Minneapolis fell to below zero in December was in 2010.

Despite the sun on Friday and Saturday, highs will be in the single digits. Low temperatures late week are all expected to be below zero.
The coldest night will be Friday, as overnight temperatures will be 8 below zero F.
Temperatures will warm a little back into the teens for Sunday and Monday but Sunday will bring another chance of snow for the area.

Monday night temperatures will again drop down to below zero overnight, as Tuesday's temperature will not even reach 10 F.
However at midweek, temperatures will rebound into the 20s for some temporary relief from the bitter cold earlier in the week.
