As the cold air remains, snow showers in the city may cause havoc for the busiest travel day of the year on Wednesday.
The week will be a bit warmer than last weekend with high temperatures lingering in the low to mid-30s until the weekend arrives.
Monday will bring mostly cloudy skies and a few snow showers to the city along with some locally gusty winds.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be chilly with highs at 32 degrees during the day and temperatures in the low 20s overnight.
However, as a major winter storm is set to unfold across the East Coast Wednesday, depending on that storm's track the city could also see some lake-effect snow.
This snow would cause major Thanksgiving travel delays, as Wednesday is the biggest travel day of the year.
Even without the lake-effect snow, Chicago is set to see some snow flurries on Wednesday.
Thanksgiving day will stay chilly but skies will be partly sunny with a few clouds. Friday's conditions will also include partly sunny skies and chilly air.
Right in time for the weekend, temperatures will spike into the low 40s.

Looking forward to next week, temperatures will dip back into the mid-30s and Tuesday will bring bring some ice and snow to the city.
