Cleveland will narrowly miss being impacted by a disruptive snowstorm this week, but lake-effect snow showers are still expected.
After a dry Monday, the storm that brought a wintry mess to Oklahoma City and Dallas over the weekend will turn toward the Northeast on Tuesday.
Snow will spread up the Appalachians Tuesday through Wednesday as heavy rain soaks the I-95 corridor.
Accumulating snow will also reach eastern Ohio, but should stop short of whitening Cleveland. However, the could change if the storm shifts slightly to the west--a scenario AccuWeather.com meteorologists are monitoring.

The snowstorm should pass close enough for Cleveland to receive a couple of snow showers Tuesday night. Lake-effect snow showers will then stream across northeastern Ohio on Wednesday, posing hazards and disruptions to Thanksgiving travelers.

The lake-effect snow should wind down by Thanksgiving Day, giving way to a brisk Thursday underneath a mixture of clouds and sunshine.
