East Cold, Calif. Rain Headline Thanksgiving Day Weather

After a stormy Wednesday for holiday travelers, the weather will turn less adverse for much of the United States on Thanksgiving Day.
The storm threatening to create travel nightmares for millions across the East Coast on Wednesday should be bearing down on Eastern Canada on Thursday.
There could still be wind-whipped snow on the storm's backside streaming across the St. Lawrence Valley and into the mountains of northern New England.
In the storm's wake, fresh cold air will pour across the Eastern U.S. for Thanksgiving Day.
Brisk winds will not only create colder AccuWeather.com RealFeel® temperatures across the Northeast, but could impact the balloons flying in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
A cool breeze will also likely be in place across Florida, as a shower or two dots the state's Atlantic coast. Those planning to spend the holiday at Disney World in Orlando, Fla., will want to have a jacket on hand.

Dry weather will dominate the rest of the eastern two-thirds of the country, including at the sites of the three NFL games being played on Thursday (Detroit, Dallas and Baltimore).
Chilly temperatures, however, will still have fans shivering at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium and those tailgating outside of Detroit's Ford Field.

The unseasonable cold and wintry weather from this weekend in Dallas will be replaced by sunshine and highs in the lower to middle 50s on Thursday.
Depending on how fast Wednesday's storm departs, there could still be a couple of snow showers across far eastern coastal points of New England and lake-effect snow showers downwind of the eastern Great Lakes.
Another, yet weaker storm system dropping down from Canada should spread a bit of snow across the upper Great Lakes.
The most active weather on Thanksgiving will likely be found across central and southern California as a Pacific storm delivers some rain and mountain snow, including to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
While the storm is not expected to become powerful, the rain and mountain snow will still create a nuisance to those traveling to their holiday destinations.
