Fiona Continues to Spin as a Tropical Depression in the Central Atlantic

August 22,2016
Fiona weakened to a tropical depression Sunday night and may become a remnant low in the next couple of days as it moves toward the west-northwest in the central Atlantic Ocean.

Current Storm Status
As the forecast path from the National Hurricane Center shows, Fiona (or its remnant low) will continue heading in a general west-northwest direction into the central Atlantic Ocean during the next five days and is no threat to land. Wind shear and dry air will continue to keep Fiona from strengthening.

Projected Path
It's not entirely out of the question that Fiona, or what's left of it after the hostile environment, could end up somewhere near or west of Bermuda sometime late this week.
