Madeline has formed in the open Pacific and is expected to gradually intensify over the next several days.
Here's the latest from the National Hurricane Center:
- Tropical Storm Madeline is located over 1200 miles east-southeast of Hawaii.
- The depression is forecast to strengthen over the next couple of days, and could become a hurricane on Monday.
- This new system is no threat to the U.S. mainland, but could be a threat to Hawaii by the mid to end of next week.
