The United Kingdom will continue to see a break from significant storm systems through the middle of the week. Despite this, thundery showers and areas of light rain will dampen some areas.
Cloud and spells of rain will spread across Scotland on Wednesday. To the south of this, although thundery showers will develop across Wales and England during the afternoon, many will see fair skies and lengthy periods of dry weather.

Wednesday will turn out to be a generally cloudy day across Scotland as occasional rain falls in areas from Glasgow and Edinburgh, northward into the Highlands and western Isles.
Although it will be damp, rainfall should remain light. Patchy fog early in the day may lead to minor travel delays for the morning commute.
To the south of this, across the majority of Wales and England, spotty showers will develop. Some of these showers may turn thundery during the afternoon. While many locations will see a shower, rainfall in any given location should be brief, lasting 30 minutes or less.

Due to the isolated nature of showers most people will not need to use rain gear, though most may still want to grab an umbrella before heading outdoors.
Anyone with outdoor activities during the afternoon should be prepared to move inside when thunder is heard.

On Thursday, dry weather will prevail though much of the day. This will be in advance of rain moving into Wales and the South of England during afternoon and evening.
Even though the morning will be dry from Exeter to London, residents should prepare for rain toward the evening. As a result, delays from wet roadways and hill fog could mount during the evening commute.
Liverpool takes on Dortmund at home on Thursday evening in a second leg, Europa League quarter final match. Dry weather should hold for the game with rain largely remaining to the south of Liverpool.
To the north of this rain, Scotland will enjoy a largely dry day, though cloud may linger much of the time along eastern coasts.
