Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday,April 30,2016

A low pressure system will transition across the Mississippi Valley on Saturday, while a separate system deepens over the Southwest.

An area of low pressure will move east northeast across the southern Plains and the middle Mississippi Valley. Warm and moist air will collide with this system, which will generate widespread rain and thunderstorms across the Plains, the Midwest and the Deep South. Severe thunderstorms will be possible in eastern Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, northwest Mississippi, western Tennessee, western Kentucky, southern Illinois and southeast Missouri. These thunderstorms will be capable of producing large hail, dangerous straight line winds and isolated tornadoes. Heavy rain will also bring threats of flash flooding to the lower Mississippi Valley and the central Appalachians. In addition, a mixture of rain and snow will persist across the central Rockies and the central high Plains.

Another area of low pressure will move southward over California and northern Mexico. This system will generate showers and isolated thunderstorms across parts of California and the Desert Southwest. Rain and high elevation snow will also develop from the Sierra Nevada to the Rockies. A ridge of high pressure centered over the West Coast will bring dry conditions to northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
