After September started off with mid-summer heat, a cool down is on the way for the weekend.
A cold front will sweep across central Pennsylvania around midday on Saturday, bringing cloudy skies and periods of rain.

Those heading to the home-opener for the Penn State Nittany Lions in State College could face some rain. Spectators and fans attending the game, which starts at noon on Saturday, may want to bring along the rain gear.
Rain is expected to continue into Saturday night, with a lingering shower possible on Sunday.
This rain will clear out the humidity and heat from early in the month, and instead replace it with cool, comfortable air.

Even on Saturday, high temperatures will be in the mid-70s, a thermostat reading more typical of late September. Sunday and Monday, the autumnlike chill really settles in with highs struggling to reach the lower 70s.
More sunshine returns for next week, allowing a warm surge of air to bring temperatures back near normal by the middle of the week.
