Residents in the Philadelphia area can expect a dry start to the weekend, but wet weather will move in as Saturday progresses.
It will still be a warm day with temperatures in the mid-80s, but conditions will deteriorate throughout the day, AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek said.
A Pleasant Friday for the Northeast Between Storms
A temperature near 80 F is common for this time of year.
Showers, and possibly a thunderstorm, will break out during the afternoon, but a steadier rain will develop Saturday evening, according to Dombek, adding that the area could receive a half of an inch to an inch of rain over the course of the day.

"The wettest part of the whole weekend is probably gonna be for a while, Saturday night," he said.
So far this month, the city is below its normal rainfall amount, so this rain will be beneficial. However, the threat for flash flooding exists if too much falls in a short period of time.

The game between the Phillies and Cubs Saturday evening at Citizens Bank Park could be delayed or postponed.

Most of Sunday will probably be dry, with more clouds than sun and lower temperatures than Saturday.
"[It will be] kind of an unsettled day, where there certainly could still be a shower or two around, but not a washout of a day," Dombek said.
