After several days of springlike warmth, seasonable temperatures are in store for Boston into Monday with a storm forecast to affect the area this weekend.
Temperatures will peak within a few degrees of 40 F through Monday.
This follows the warmest weather since Christmastime from Wednesday when temperatures climbed into the upper 50s.

The storm this weekend will bring mostly rain to the region. However, there could be a bit of wet snow, sleet and freezing rain for a time Saturday morning.
The storm this weekend will bring a risk of flooding even after the steady, heavy rain departs. The typical mid-March temperatures and extensive snow cover could lead to rises on area creeks and rivers as water from natural melting is released and ice begins to break up.

Showers of wet snow are forecast to occur in the wake of the storm on Sunday for the parade.
The outlook for St. Patrick's Day in Boston looks to be wet ahead of a push of colder weather for the balance of the third week of March.
Even though air temperatures may stay above freezing in urban areas, road and sidewalk temperatures can cool to below freezing at night especially in the northern and western suburbs. Motorists and pedestrians should be on the lookout for patches of black ice into the morning drive with the shift in darkness associated with daylight saving time.
