Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday,March 28,2015

Expect cold temperatures to move from the Eastern Valleys to the East Coast on Saturday, while rain showers diminish for the Southeast and mid-Atlantic states. A strong low pressure system and associated cold front advance eastward and offshore of the East Coast on Saturday. This will allow for rain showers to come to an end for the region, while snow showers will diminish for the Northeast. However, a strong and broad ridge of high pressure building in behind this system will continue pushing cooler air in from Canada which will spread from the Eastern Valleys to the East Coast. Expect temperatures to be 15 to 25 degrees below seasonable for the Mississippi and Ohio Valley, as well as the Great Lakes. Frost and freeze advisories will remain in effect for the Tennessee Valley as early morning low temperatures are expected to drop into the lower and mid-30s again on Saturday morning.

In the Plains, a weak trough of low pressure slides southward from the northern Plains into the central Plains and through the mid-Mississippi River Valley. This will allow for scattered rain showers to develop in these areas, but significant precipitation is not anticipated.

Meanwhile out West, a strong trough of low pressure moves into the Pacific Northwest early on Saturday and pulls abundant moisture onshore from the Pacific Ocean. This system will bring moderate to heavy rain showers to Washington and Oregon, which will diminish as it advances eastward over the Intermountain West and northern Rockies throughout the day. Another system follows closely behind, bringing more precipitation to the Pacific Northwest late on Saturday.
