Weather Underground Forecast for Monday,March 30,2015
Wet
weather spreads across the East on Monday, while scattered showers
persist for parts of the Pacific Northwest. A trough of low pressure
that produced snow showers for the Great Lakes with rain showers in the
Midwest will continue sliding southeastward over the Eastern Valleys on
Monday. This system will produce snow showers for the lower Great Lakes
and Northeast, with snowfall totals ranging from 1 to 3 inches. The
southern side of this system will pull moisture onshore from the Gulf of
Mexico and feed energy into a cold front associated with this system.
This cold front will bring moderate to heavy rain showers to the
Southeast and mid-Atlantic states by Monday afternoon and evening.
Rainfall totals for these areas should range from 0.25 to 0.75 inches,
with some areas seeing over an inch of rainfall by Monday night.
Meanwhile out West, a low pressure system moves into British Columbia and creates a strong cold front that stretches southward through the Pacific Ocean. As this system approaches the West Coast, a broad ridge of high pressure over the Southwest and West Coast will keep moisture from this system away to the north. Thus, only a few scattered showers may spread into Washington and Oregon late Monday night into Tuesday morning.
