Pittsburgh: Storm to Affect Area With Rain This Weekend

March 11,2015; 9:50PM,EDT

After several days of springlike warmth, seasonable temperatures are in store for Pittsburgh from Thursday into early next week with a storm forecast to affect the area this weekend.
Temperatures will peak mainly in the 50s from Thursday through Monday as a dose of cooler air settles in before the end of the week.
A storm is forecast to move into that cooler air Friday afternoon through Saturday.

That storm will bring rain to the region for the scheduled parade on Saturday.
Spotty rain and wet snow showers are forecast to occur in the wake of the storm on Sunday.
The outlook for Tuesday, St. Patrick's Day looks to be wet at times ahead of a push of chillier weather for the balance of the week.

The typical mid-March temperatures and extensive snowcover this week could lead to rises on area creeks and rivers as water from natural melting is released and ice begins to break up.
Even though air temperatures may stay above freezing in urban areas, road and sidewalk temperatures can cool to below freezing at night especially in the suburbs. Motorists and pedestrians should be on the lookout for patches of black ice into the morning drive with the shift in darkness associated with daylight saving time.
