After a couple of days with significantly above-average warmth in the Chicago area, cooler air will invade the city for much of this week.
For the remainder of the week, those who venture outdoors will notice a stark contrast in temperatures from Monday.
For the next several days, high temperatures in the city will fail to climb above the 50-degree mark.
Some days could be more than 20 degrees lower than Monday's high.

The only exceptions could be Thursday or Friday, when highs have the potential to creep into the low 50s F.
Another cold front will move through the area late in the week, dropping weekend highs into the low 40s.
Despite the chilly weather, abundant sunshine will span most of the week, providing ample opportunities to get outdoors.
