The first two storms of this week will bring rain to the Washington, D.C., area Tuesday and Wednesday. However, there is a slight chance the third storm will bring some snow to the region Wednesday night into Thursday.
Expect some rain-related travel delays Tuesday into Wednesday.
Temperatures will be well above freezing through the day Wednesday, so no real problems from snow and ice are in store until then.
Just enough cold air will move in Wednesday night and Thursday to support snow or a mix of snow and rain.
The problem is a storm may be too far offshore to tap lingering moisture and bring snow in the first place, let alone bring heavy snow.
