Dangerously low temperatures will continue through the start of 2014, but the first half of the weekend will provide a bit of relief for the city.
Temperatures climbed to 21 degrees Friday after remaining near zero both Wednesday and Thursday. Those headed outdoors without proper clothing attire may be subject to frostbite and life-threatening conditions.
Wednesday night, temperatures dropped down to minus 8 degrees overnight. Temperatures again plummeted to minus 10 degrees Thursday night.
Saturday will see a high in the mid-teens, but the temperature will fall into the single digits with the presence of more bitterly cold, arctic air.
Sunday through Tuesday will be much colder with the temperature staying below zero around the clock.

In addition to the subzero temperatures, gusty winds will make it feel even colder, making it dangerous for outdoor activities.
Temperatures will moderate Wednesday and Thursday with the high reaching 20 degrees by Thursday.
