A potent storm affecting the middle of the nation at midweek will bring episodes of windswept rain to Pittsburgh Thursday into Thursday night.
In addition to trick-or-treaters, stormy weather will haunt the Pittsburgh area Halloween evening.
The combination of rain and fallen leaves can lead to flooding in poor drainage areas and slippery secondary roads and sidewalks.
Winds can be quite strong. Gusts between 40 and 50 mph are possible.
The winds could cause flight delays and, when combined with rounds of rain, can pose a challenge for commuters and those walking during their Halloween masquerade.
Leaves will be scattered, and some trash cans can be tipped over. A few branches and power lines may be knocked down.

The storm and its south to southwesterly winds will bring in warmer air into the end of the week, before chilling winds from the west kick in following the storm over the weekend. Snow showers can return to the mountains over the weekend.
