Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday,April 5,2016
An area of low pressure will make its way across the Intermountain West and the Plains on Tuesday, while a ridge of high pressure builds over the Eastern Seaboard.
A low pressure system will drift east southeastward over the upper Intermountain West and the northern Plains. This system will produce light to moderate precipitation across the northern and central Rockies, as well as the northern Plains. High wind watches are in place for eastern Montana, northeast Wyoming and western South Dakota. A swath of heavy snow showers is expected to develop from the upper Mississippi Valley to the central Great Lakes. Heavy snow is forecast to impact northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and Michigan. Additionally, a cold frontal boundary will collide with warm and muggy air, which will lead to showers and thunderstorms across the central Plains and the middle Mississippi Valley.
A large area of high pressure will move eastward over the Mid-Atlantic. This ridge of high pressure will bring a dry weather pattern to most of the East Coast on Tuesday.
High pressure over the eastern Pacific will also keep most areas across the West Coast clear of precipitation, with the exception to scattered showers over parts of Washington. Temperatures will climb 10 to 20 degrees above normal across the Southwest.
