Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday,April 2,2016
A frontal system will drift across the East Coast on Saturday, while a pair of low pressure systems move over the Great Lakes.
A cold front will extend southwestward from southeast Canada to Florida. This frontal system will generate rain and thunderstorms across the Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast. A ridge of high pressure will settle in west of the frontal boundary, which will allow for dry air to settle in across the southern Plains and the Deep South.
Meanwhile, an area of low pressure will move east northeastward from the upper Great Lakes to southeast Canada. This system will usher a light mixture of rain and snow across the northern Mid-Atlantic and New England. A separate area of low pressure will dive southeastward across the upper Mississippi Valley and the Great Lakes. This system will produce moderate to heavy precipitation and gusty winds across the upper Midwest. Heavy snow is forecast to develop downwind of Lake Erie, focusing over northwest Pennsylvania and southwest New York. Winter weather advisories are in place for western New York.
Most areas west of the Mississippi River will stay clear of precipitation, with the exception to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the interior Northwest. Temperatures will climb 5 to 15 degrees above normal across the Desert Southwest.
