Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,April 13,2016

High pressure building over the East Coast brings a mild cool down and dry conditions to the Eastern states on Wednesday, while scattered showers and thunderstorms persist in Texas and the Gulf Coast.

Expect dry conditions to return to the East Coast as a cold front finally pushes eastward and offshore, allowing for high pressure and dry conditions to build in. Flow around this system brings slightly cooler temperatures to the region from Canada. Thus, high temperatures will be a bit below normal for the Northeast and New England on Wednesday. Freeze warnings remain in effect for parts of the Ohio Valley as early morning low temperatures are expected to dip below 32 degrees for the region.

Meanwhile in the South, a low pressure system moves across the southern Plains, pulling abundant moisture and energy in from the Gulf of Mexico. This will maintain the chance of showers and thunderstorms across Texas and the Lower Mississippi River Valley. The region remains under a marginal chance for severe weather development with strong winds and hail.

Out West, another low pressure system approaches the Pacific Northwest from the Gulf of Alaska, pushing a strong cold front onshore Wednesday afternoon and evening. This will bring rain to Washington, Oregon, and into Northern California late Wednesday into Thursday. Ahead of this system expect rainy conditions to persist through the northern Rockies.
