Following mild air late this week, cold air will return to the Detroit area in time for the weekend.
By Friday, temperatures will drop near the 50-degree Fahrenheit mark, slightly below average for this time of year. A shower or two cannot be ruled out, but conditions will be primarily dry and breezy.
"A clipper system could bring some rain and potential snow showers on Saturday," AccuWeather Meteorologist Maggie Samuhel said. "It will be windy and cold, with temperatures in the upper 40s."

Highs will reach into the 30s, roughly 15 degrees below average for this time of year.
