Winter Storm Regis dumped more
than a foot of snow on parts of the eastern Rockies and took aim at New
England early in the week.
The storm closed schools in multiple
states on Monday, and air travel was also impacted. Officials warned
commuters to exercise caution while driving on snow-covered roads, but
in Connecticut, several tractor-trailers crashed, and numerous spinouts
were reported Monday morning.
No major injuries have been reported
from the storm's snowy blast in New England, but a bus slid off a snowy
road in Buxton, Maine. The students were all removed from the bus and
taken to school shortly after the crash.

The
storm's first round clobbered parts of the High Plains. Heavy snow
forced the Wyoming Department of Transportation to close a stretch of
Interstate 80 from Laramie to Cheyenne – nearly 50 miles of roadway – on
Thursday.
In Colorado, a snow plow flipped onto its side Friday
morning in Denver's Green Valley Ranch neighborhood, CBS Denver
reported. There were no injuries, but the plow remained on its side for a
few hours, the report added.
