Another storm is forecast to impact the United Kingdom this week following powerful Storm Katie, which caused damage and travel disruption during the Easter holiday.
The next threat will bring locally heavy rainfall and strong winds to parts of the U.K. on Friday with lingering impacts into Saturday.
The storm will spread rain into Northern Ireland and Scotland on Friday while strong southwest winds blow across Wales and England ahead of the storm.
Northern Ireland and the Outer Hebrides will get rain by early Friday morning with a steady rainfall across all of Scotland by midday.
Rain will fall heavily at times during the afternoon across western Scotland, increasing the threat for localized flooding. Rainfall totals of 25-50 mm (1-2 inches) are expected through Friday night.
Rainfall will be lighter across England and Wales where totals will generally be 10 mm (0.30 of an inch) or less, except in western Wales and northwest England where as much as 25 mm (1.00 inch) are possible from Friday night into Saturday.
London and South East England will remain largely rain-free through Saturday with nothing more than a brief 10- to 15-minute shower on Saturday.
