Another storm is forecast to impact the United Kingdom late this week following powerful Storm Katie, which caused damage and travel disruption during the Easter holiday.
The next threat will bring locally heavy rainfall and strong winds to northern parts of the U.K. on Friday with lingering impacts into Saturday.
The storm will spread rain into Northern Ireland and Scotland on Friday while strong southwest winds blow across Wales and northern England.

Rain will fall heavily at times during the afternoon across western Scotland, increasing the threat for localized flooding. Rainfall totals of 25 to as much as 50 mm (1-2 inches) are expected through Friday night.
The rain will spread to Wales and northern and South West England on Friday night. The rain will be lighter in these areas with totals generally 10 mm (0.30 of an inch) or less, except in western Wales and northwest England where as much as 25 mm (1.00 inch) are possible into Saturday.
London and South East England will remain largely rain-free through Saturday with nothing more than a brief 10- to 15-minute shower on Saturday afternoon.

"A greater opportunity for showers in London and South East England will come Saturday night into Sunday," AccuWeather Meteorologist Rob Richards said.
Strong winds will blow across the U.K. ahead of this storm with frequent gusts of 30-40 mph (50-65 km/h) from Friday into Friday night. Travel disruptions will be significantly less than those produced by Storm Katie; however, some minor delays to rail and air travel are possible.
South East England will be the only location to escape the gusty winds.
The strongest winds will impact Northern Ireland, western Scotland and the higher terrain of northern Wales and northern England. These areas could receive isolated gusts to 50 mph (80 km/h).
The threat for strong winds will diminish on Saturday with occasional gusts near 30 mph (50 km/h) across Wales and northern and western England.
A few showers will linger across the U.K. on Sunday and Monday.
