Weather Underground Forecast for Monday,March 28,2016

A pair of low pressure systems will impact the eastern third of the country on Monday, while a trough of low pressure digs into the Southwest.

A low pressure system will trek northeastward from the southern Mid-Atlantic to southeast Canada. Rain and thunderstorms will accompany this system, affecting portions of Florida and the Mid-Atlantic. A separate area of low pressure will shift eastward across the Great Lakes and the Northeast. This system will pack gusty winds and moderate to heavy precipitation. The leading edge of this low pressure system will bring rainy conditions to the Ohio Valley, the northern Mid-Atlantic and New England. A colder air mass will trail this system, which will transition rain to mixed precipitation and snow across Upstate New York and northern New England.

Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to be 10 to 15 degrees above normal across portions of the central Plains as high pressure builds over the central portion of the country.

Out west, an area of low pressure will deepen over the Great Basin and the Southwest. This system will bring cooler weather to the Pacific Northwest, the Intermountain West, the Great Basin and the Southwest. Winter storm watches are in place for southern Montana, Wyoming, southeast Idaho, Utah and northern Nevada. High wind warnings are also in place for southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southern California in anticipation of gusty winds.
