A strong storm system will unleash heavy rain and thunderstorms across northeastern Argentina and Uruguay from Friday afternoon into Saturday.
Cities such as Cordoba, Rosario, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Montevideo, Uruguay, will be in the path of this powerful storm, which will bring a high risk for flash flooding.
Showers and thunderstorms will erupt from Tandil to Rio Cuarto and Cordoba, Argentina, on Friday unleashing heavy rainfall and strong winds.

Farther north and east, spotty showers and thunderstorms will develop from Rosario to Buenos Aires, Argentina, late in the day with heavy rain and thunderstorms advancing into these areas Friday night and Saturday.
The heavy rain and thunderstorms will reach Montevideo, Uruguay, late Friday night into Saturday before tapering off by the end of the day.
Total rainfall of 25-75 mm (1-3 inches) is expected throughout the region with locally higher amounts. Along with the threat for flash flooding, the thunderstorms can produce isolated damaging winds.

Thunderstorms are more likely to become strong to severe with damaging winds and hail farther north from Santa Fe to Salto, Argentina, eastward through northern Uruguay Saturday afternoon and evening.
Flash flooding is also a concern.
"Another round of thunderstorms will develop on Sunday afternoon from around Santa Fe to northern Uruguay and southernmost Brazil," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Rob Miller said.
"These thunderstorms will be locally strong with heavy rainfall but should generally remain north of Buenos Aires and Montevideo."
Additional thunderstorms will keep the vicinity of northern Uruguay at risk for flooding early next week.
